HR in Times of Crisis: Lessons Learned from the Past

  • 25 Feb 2009
  • 12:00 - 14:00
  • City Club of Tokyo (http://www.cityclub.co.jp/access.html)

Speaker: Prof. Shinya Yamamoto, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers HRS Co. Ltd. and Professor, Graduate School of Business, University of Tsukuba

It has been said that the current global economic crisis happens every one hundred years. Some are even worried that this is a prelude to a Great Depression!

Whatever your take on this issue, there is no doubt that we are all affected by it. The good news is that we can learn from the past and use these learning to help us better understand the current crisis.

In this event, Prof. Yamamoto will share his thoughts on how the current global crisis compares with that of Japan's very own crisis brought about by the collapse of the Bubble Economy more than 15 years ago. He will also discuss how HR responded during that crisis and the key lessons learned from an HR perspective. A Q&A forum will follow in order to provide participants an opportunity to exchange ideas that might be helpful in creating solutions for your own organization and beat the recession.

Enjoy this lively and engaging discussion over a sumptious lunch with your fellow HR professionals.
