    Employers in Japan must provide employees with periodic health and stress tests. The Industrial Safety and Health Act was amended to require employers with 50 or more employees to provide these tests by a doctor or public health clinician. The effective date is likely to be in late 2015.

    Japan-- Effective October 1, 2014, tax-deductible contribution to employer-provided defined contribution plans will increase from JPY 51,000 to JPY 55,000 per month if the employer does not offer an externally funded defined benefit (DB) plan. The tax deductible increases from JPY 25,500 to JPY 27,500 per month if the employer offers a DB plan.
