    Wellness programs can help prevent illness and lower health care costs by motivating employees to adopt and maintain healthful behaviors. These programs can also make the workforce healthier by encouraging employees to pay attention to their overall health. It may be less expensive for employers to implement wellness programs than to pay for treatment of health conditions that could have been prevented.
