You’ve seen the pictures. You’ve seen the devastation. It is time for us to come together and act, just as many in other countries did with our Tohoku trauma in March 2011. Our Filipino friends need us. We need to respond.

We are partnering with the wonderful Conrad Tokyo, to put on a night of fundraising and live music at the glamorous TwentyEight Bar & Lounge and also an opportunity to learn more about Oxfam's efforts on the ground in the affected regions and where your money will go.

"The scene is utter devastation. There’s no electricity in the entire area and no water. Local emergency food stocks have been distributed but stocks are dwindling. The immediate need is water, both for drinking and cleaning." – Tata Abella-Bolo, Oxfam emergency worker, Cebu, Philippines.

★ 手を取り合い日本に住むフィリピンの友人と団結する一夜。

2011年3月11日　私たちは東北大震災のときたくさんの国から支援をいただきました。今我々が手を取り合って行動を起こす時です。私たちの友人、フィリピンの人々は我々を必要としています。　私たちは要望に応えなければなりません。

私たちのすばらしいパートナー、コンラッド東京の魅力たっぷりのバー＆ラウンジ「トゥエンティエイト」にてライブ・ミュージックと共に寄付金を集める一夜を開催すると同時に、オックスファムが被害にあった地域でどのような支援活動をし、どのように募金が使われるのかを学ぶ機会を設けたいと思います。

「目に入ってくる光景はすさまじい惨状です｡　この一帯水も電気もありません。地元の非常用食料は次々と配給され、もう底を付きつつあります。　今、緊急に飲用と洗濯用の水が必要です。」　－　タタ　アベッラ　ボーロ、オックスファム緊急隊員、フィリピン、セブにて。
