Over 60% of Japan's smaller firms short-staffed after COVID rules ease

A total of 2,880 small and medium-sized companies took part in the survey conducted by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or JCCI, in July and August. Nearly 65 percent said they did not have enough workers. That came close to the record high of 66.4 percent in 2019. The survey started in 2016.
