Japan's job market unchanged in August

The latest figures show that Japan's job market in August maintained the same level as the previous month. That was as some employers were reluctant to increase hiring as they struggle with higher costs.

The labor ministry says there were 129 job openings for every 100 applicants, unchanged from July. The ratio had been falling for three months in a row.
